Acceptable Use Policy
Effective November 4, 2026
1. Scope
1.1 This Acceptable Use Policy applies to IPv4 address resources leased or transferred through Prefixx, Inc. ("Prefixx") (the "Resources"), and to the website at prefixx.net, the client application at prefixx.app and its application programming interface (together, the "Platform").
1.2 This policy supplements the Customer's obligations under the Service Agreement, in particular Section 7.g (abuse of Resources held on a leased basis), Section 7.h (compliance with law) and Section 7.i (sanctions). In respect of Resources held under a Work Order, the Service Agreement prevails over this policy to the extent of any conflict.
2. Use of the Resources
The Customer shall not use the Resources, and shall not permit them to be used, for:
(a) any purpose that is unlawful in the jurisdiction of the Customer, of the end user or of Prefixx;
(b) sending unsolicited bulk communications;
(c) the distribution of malware, the operation of botnet command and control infrastructure, phishing, or denial of service attacks;
(d) unauthorized access to, scanning of or interference with systems or networks of third parties;
(e) announcing address space, or originating routes, that the Customer is not authorized to announce;
(f) any activity that causes the Resources to be listed on a reputation or block list, or that otherwise impairs their future use, contrary to Section 7.g of the Service Agreement; or
(g) use by or for the benefit of a person subject to sanctions, or in violation of export control or sanctions laws, contrary to Section 7.i of the Service Agreement.
3. Registry and routing data
The Customer shall keep accurate the registry, routing and geolocation data that it controls for the Resources, including abuse contact information, and shall use the RPKI Route Origin Authorizations, route objects and Letters of Authorization issued by Prefixx only for the Resources and the origin networks for which they were issued.
4. Abuse reports
4.1 The Customer shall maintain an abuse contact for the Resources and shall act on abuse reports concerning them.
4.2 When Prefixx forwards an abuse report concerning the Resources, the Customer shall acknowledge it within 24 hours and shall resolve it, or inform Prefixx of the measures being taken, within 72 hours.
4.3 Abuse involving Resources may be reported to [email protected]. Prefixx publishes guidance on reporting abuse in its knowledge base.
5. Use of the Platform
The Customer shall use the Platform in accordance with the Terms and Conditions, including the restrictions in their Section 7.
6. Enforcement
6.1 Prefixx does not operate the network that announces the Resources. Prefixx enforces this policy through the measures set out in this Section and in the Service Agreement.
6.2 Critical abuse means any of the following in respect of the Resources:
(a) the announcement of the Resources from an autonomous system that is not authorized for them, or any other route hijacking;
(b) the distribution of child sexual abuse material;
(c) the operation of command and control infrastructure or the distribution of malware;
(d) activity that causes, or threatens to cause, a listing of the Resources on the Spamhaus Block List (SBL) or the Spamhaus Don't Route Or Peer list (DROP);
(e) conduct involving a person or jurisdiction subject to sanctions, contrary to Section 7.i of the Service Agreement; and
(f) any case in which the law, a court or a regional Internet registry requires Prefixx to act immediately.
6.3 Except in cases of critical abuse, Prefixx's practice is to notify the Customer in writing of a breach and to allow 48 hours for the Customer to cure it before taking the measures in Sections 6.4 and 6.5. This practice does not limit the rights of Prefixx under the Service Agreement.
6.4 Where a breach is not cured, Prefixx may suspend the acceptance of new orders, restrict access to the Account or to the API, and inform the Customer's upstream provider or the relevant regional Internet registry of the report.
6.5 Where a breach of Section 7.g of the Service Agreement or of applicable law is not cured, and in any case of critical abuse without a cure period, Prefixx may, upon written notice, suspend the Services and the announcement authorizations for the Resources, including Letters of Authorization and route objects, until the breach is cured, as set forth in Section 19 (Suspension) of the Service Agreement. Suspension is not a Revocation Event, and charges continue to accrue during suspension, as set forth in Section 19.
6.6 Prefixx may terminate the affected Work Order only as permitted by the Service Agreement, including its Section 7.i, and by the applicable Work Order.
6.7 Prefixx may report suspected unlawful activity to the competent authorities and cooperate with them and with regional Internet registries.
7. Changes
Prefixx may amend this policy. Prefixx shall publish the amended policy with its effective date and shall notify Account holders of material changes by email before they take effect.
